Maresca has made one noticeable change at Man City training

Man City training

The Enzo Maresca era at Man City now has its own soundtrack. Literally.

City trained at the City Football Academy today before heading to Portugal for tomorrow night’s Champions League opener against Porto. And anyone watching closely may have noticed something different… music.

According to the Manchester Evening News, speakers have appeared around the training pitches, and music is now being played during sessions.

Things were quieter under Pep

It wasn’t something Pep Guardiola did. The MEN reports that music wasn’t played during first-team training under the former City boss, so this is one small difference since Maresca arrived in the summer.

Nothing earth-shattering, obviously. Nobody is winning the Champions League because somebody remembered to connect the Bluetooth. But after nine years of Guardiola, even the little changes around the training ground are noticeable.

The important question hasn’t yet been answered: who gets control of the playlist? This being Manchester, presumably there’s an Oasis track or two lurking in there somewhere.

What do you reckon? Don’t Look Back in Anger? Roll With It? Supersonic? Bring It On Down?
