It’s been a Man City news day dominated by Enzo Maresca’s first presser as City manager, in which he covered a lot of ground and, among other stuff, gave updates on the state of play with Rodri and Jack Grealish.
Enzo Maresca took his first press conference as City manager today, and it was Rodri who dominated. Maresca confirmed surgery will take place on Monday, with the midfielder needing rest before returning to the squad.
He also gave a non-committal answer on Jack Grealish’s future, leaving Everton’s hopes of a second loan unresolved, and declined to revisit his acrimonious Chelsea exit when asked directly.
On the transfer front, City’s interest in Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez resurfaced this week, with his World Cup final red card adding a layer of complication to any reunion with Maresca.
Elsewhere, Elliot Anderson wasted no time needling Manchester United in his first interview since his £116m move, and we looked ahead to City’s pre-season schedule and when the World Cup contingent are expected back.
