City’s summer business is now well underway.
Fabrizio Romano(who else?) confirmed the loan-out of Mathys Detourbet on Wednesday morning: City paid Troyes a €25m package for the 19-year-old winger before immediately sending him to Monaco, with the loan able to extend to 2028 and a recall clause in City’s favour, according to RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins.
Elliot Anderson’s move is now down to paperwork. City agreed a club-record £116m fee with Nottingham Forest, and Sky Sports News reported the midfielder has passed his medical in Kansas while on England duty, with the deal set to be completed before tonight’s Round of 32 tie against DR Congo.
On departures, City have already banked from two sales. Manchester Evening News reported Inter Milan’s £13m purchase option on Manuel Akanji was triggered after their Serie A title win, while ESPN’s confirmed transfers list has Bernardo Silva joining Real Madrid on a free transfer and John Stones released, with the defender now in advanced talks over a return to Everton.

The big picture
Anderson’s arrival is essentially confirmed, and Detourbet is already out on loan — two pieces of business done inside Maresca’s first fortnight.
Bouaddi is one to watch longer-term: City appear to have positioned themselves well, but the structure of the deal being discussed points to a 2026 agreement with a 2027 arrival rather than an immediate first-team addition.
On exits, Trafford, Reijnders, Savinho and Kovačić all look like players without a future under the new head coach, and at least two of that quartet leaving quite soon would be no surprise.
