Manchester City have their sights set on a prolific Premier League forward, but the competition has just become even fiercer.

The Citizens are not short on options when it comes to their attack, including those who lead the line up front.

Erling Haaland is the regular starter, while Omar Marmoush has proven himself to be an effective backup, scoring eight goals this season.

However, Marmoush could leave Man City this summer. This very much depends on the role he is offered next season.

Man City face competition for Eli Junior Kroupi

Should Marmoush depart, City will be looking to sign another centre forward in order to replace the Egyptian.

The club are said to be interested in Eli Junior Kroupi, who scored 13 goals in 33 Premier League appearances this season.

But securing the 19-year-old will not be easy, as according to the Daily Mail, Bayern Munich have added him to their shortlist.

Kroupi has done wonders for Bournemouth since Antoine Semenyo’s departure

Even after Antoine Semenyo switched Bournemouth for Man City, the Cherries continued to perform well in the Premier League.

In fact, they managed to secure Europa League football for the first time in their history, finishing sixth in the table.

Without Kroupi, this would simply not have been possible, as he really stepped up towards the end of the campaign.

The Frenchman scored five goals in Bournemouth’s final eight games of the season, contributing to an 18-match unbeaten run.

So even without Semenyo’s attacking threat, Bournemouth were able to deliver their best ever season.

City would enjoy Kroupi’s flexibility

While primarily a striker, Kroupi has played a number of matches as an attacking midfielder for Bournemouth.

He is the type of player who can operate in different roles across the frontline, which is good news for the Sky Blues.

Obviously they are not short on number 10 options either, with both Rayan Cherki and Phil Foden able to cover the position.

Despite this, Kroupi is a clear goal threat, and if he joined, Enzo Maresca would find a way to use him.
