Bernardo Silva has already decided on his next club after Man City
  • Bernardo Silva’s contract is about to expire
  • Captain has already announced his departure
  • Knows exactly where he wants to be in August

Bernardo Silva will soon no longer be a Manchester City player, and it seems he is not far away from signing with another club.

Every good story comes to an end, but there was something particularly special about this one. For nine years, Bernardo Silva set the Etihad Stadium alight with his brilliance.

As the months passed by this season, optimism remained that Silva might decide to sign a contract extension.

However, it turns out he had already decided when he would leave the club two years in advance, as the star wants another big adventure before his eventual retirement.

Bernardo Silva is determined to join Barcelona

According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, Barcelona are ‘very close’ to agreeing terms with Silva.

Hansi Flick has greenlit the move and now the club are working with his agent to agree the finer details of the deal.

Should the La Liga team get this deal over the line, Silva will sign a two year contract, with the option to extend it to last until 2029.

Silva has rejected a move to Atletico Madrid

Interestingly, Silva has actually been offered better personal terms by Atletico Madrid than Barcelona when it comes to finances.

Despite this, it is the Portugal international’s ‘dream’ to play for Barcelona, so he is likely to end up at Spotify Camp Nou.

Atletico have actually knocked Barca out of two competitions this season, defeating them in the Copa Del Rey and Champions League.

But it was the Catalan giants who won the race to the Spanish title, and they appear to have one upped their rivals when it comes to Silva too.

Man City are working on a replacement for Silva

Barcelona have been busy to secure the 31-year-old, and Man City have been working just as hard to find a new midfield maestro.

City are working through a disagreement with Nottingham Forest on Elliot Anderson’s valuation, but that situation is looking highly promising.

Should that deal fall through, Enzo Fernandez has been linked with a potential move due to Maresca’s impending arrival.

This has already been shut down, but there is still a chance Man City will continue to explore a deal if they cannot secure their primary target.
