- Haaland spills secret on infamous conversation with Foden
- On-pitch moment occurred when striker played for Borussia Dortmund
- Foden was playing the agent role
Erling Haaland has finally lifted the lid on what Phil Foden told him after a Champions League match between Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund.
Phil Foden and Erling Haaland have played together for a number of years now, and their partnership has helped bring about plenty of success.
Man City have won every trophy they have competed in during this period of time, including two Premier League titles.
The pair have a great relationship, with Foden recently describing Haaland as a City legend, but their journey together might not have happened were it not for the England international
Erling Haaland details what Phil Foden told him
Back in 2021, Foden scored a last minute goal to hand City a 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
The duo appeared to be in deep conversation after the game, and Haaland has just revealed what they were talking about.

He told Man City: “What Phil said was you should come and join me at City and that’s what he said. And yeah, he was right about it, I have to say. It’s funny to look back on it.”
A partnership for the future
Haaland and Foden have spent less time on the pitch together more recently, with Foden struggling to perform at his usual level.
However, he looked much better against Crystal Palace, which could open the door to more regular first-team starts.
On top of this, Foden is close to signing a new deal with Man City, so we can expect to see a lot more of the attackers combining for the Sky Blues.
Haaland made the right decision
Leaving Borussia Dortmund for the Premier League was a big call. After all, many players have left the Bundesliga, but struggled to adapt to the English game.
However, Haaland’s time at Man City has been a monumental success story. The Norwegian’s trophy collection says it all, and by the end of the season he is likely to have a third golden boot to his name.
From becoming a champion of England, to lifting the Champions League trophy, Haaland will have no regrets about making the Etihad Stadium his home.
And by the end of this weekend, he might have added yet another piece of silverware to his collection.
