  • Man City have been linked with two young players
  • Both teenage stars have impressed
  • City looking to bolster squad ahead of new season

Manchester City are eyeing transfers for two exciting young attackers ahead of the summer window.

The upcoming transfer window is expected to be a busy one at Man City. The Carabao Cup winners are already set to make some changes to their squad at the end of this season.

Long-time stalwart Bernardo Silva is leaving, while uncertainty remains around the futures of stars such as Rodri, Mateo Kovacic and Nico Gonzalez.

However, the club are actively looking to bring in new additions, with two exciting teenage forwards high on Pep Guardiola’s wish list.

Manchester City want RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande

At just 19 years old, RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has already been attracting interest from a number of top clubs, including Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

The Ivorian teenager has 12 goals and seven assists in 29 Bundesliga appearances this season, and has already been capped nine times by his country.

According to Sky Sports, City have been keeping a close eye on the young forward, and are seriously considering a move to bring him to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi would be a great addition

Another name on Guardiola’s shortlist of attacking targets is Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi. The French under-21 star, also 19, has been impressing in the Premier League this season.

Kroupi has 11 goals in 29 league appearances for the Cherries since joining the South Coast side last summer, prompting interest from a number of top sides.

Contracted until 2030, the teenager is valued at close to £80 million, making any potential deal an expensive one.

Despite this, City are said to be extremely interested, and consider Kroupi a serious option for the upcoming window.

Do City need another two attackers?

While there’s no doubt that both Diomande and Kroupi would bring depth and quality to Guardiola’s squad, the Cityzens are far from short of options as it is.

On the left, Doku and Savinho have been excellent, while Omar Marmoush is a solid backup for Erling Haaland.

Bringing one or both of these teenage targets to the Etihad would only benefit the squad, but it may be more useful to reinforce other areas first, with right-back a particular area of concern.

Young Feyenoord defender Givairo Read is one option City are keen on, and it could be the wiser option to secure him before bolstering an already stacked attacking unit.
