- Rayan Cherki praises Pep Guardiola’s influence
- Calls Premier League the best division
- Delighted with Manchester City move
Rayan Cherki has shared his thoughts on life at Manchester City, praising both Pep Guardiola and the standard of the Premier League.
Cherki has made some of the biggest impacts in recent games for Man City despite not being an undisputed starter.
Nevertheless, he did start the Citizens’ last four games and registered three assists, both coming in their two most recent matches.
The Frenchman’s performance was incredible against Chelsea, a game that would decide if a title race was truly feasible for Guardiola’s men.
The 22-year-old assisted twice and did not let Guardiola down. However, despite facing criticism, Cherki is still focused on improving every day and giving his best as he laid out his opinions in a recent interview.
Cherki discusses life in the Premier League
While speaking to Man City, Cherki revealed he is enjoying life in the Premier League. The attacker explained that he is very proud to play in the ‘best league in the world’, and he is excited to keep delivering.
“I think a lot of things, but the first is it’s the best league in the world. And I’m very proud to be here,” Cherki said.
“And I want to play, I want to take pleasure, I want to win games, I want to score, I want to give assists for my partners.”
Cherki is getting along with Guardiola
Cherki’s success is largely the result of his own making, but he has definitely been helped by a manager who is constantly working to help him improve.
“Unbelievable. Pep is crazy. He loves football, Cherki continued. “The football is him, and him is the football. It’s very good to work with him, because all second, all minute, all day we try, we try, we try, we work a lot.”
“And for me, it’s better because I love when I learn all the time. That is unbelievable.”
Cherki will be expected to step up against Arsenal
With the Arsenal game around the corner, Guardiola will need his best men to give it their all in a possible title decider clash.
The Citizens have a game in hand and play their toughest end-of-season fixture this Sunday. Their last clash against the Gunners ended 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final, but Cherki did not exactly play a key role in the trophy win.
However, with his current form, the Frenchman will enter the game with high expectations, as he looks to create even more moments of magic.
