- Manchester City beat Liverpool 4-0 in the FA Cup on Saturday.
- Antoine Semenyo scored City’s third goal after half-time.
- Semenyo says City are treating ‘every game like a final’.
Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo has issued a warning to title rivals Arsenal after his side’s thumping 4-0 victory against Liverpool in Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final.
In a dominant display at the Etihad, City dismantled Liverpool in the Manchester sun as Erling Haaland’s hat-trick and Semenyo’s delicately chipped finish earned a comfortable victory for the hosts.
Having beaten Arsenal 2-0 in last month’s Carabao Cup final, City remain in the hunt for more silverware.
And according to Semenyo, they haven’t given up hope of winning the Premier League, despite trailing leaders Arsenal by nine points.
Semenyo says there is ‘more to come’ from Man City
Speaking after the win, the 26-year-old Ghana international stressed that City remain focused on winning every competition they can.
Despite last month’s 5-1 aggregate defeat to Real Madrid ending their Champions League campaign, City could still end the season with three trophies, something Semenyo still believes his side can achieve.
He said: “City have aspirations to win every trophy or compete for every trophy and I want to be in a team like that. I’m grateful and let’s see how it goes.
“For me personally, winning a trophy is great but there is so much aspiration and so many goals we want to achieve this season.
“There is more to come and we just have to keep going”, he continued.
“It’s the most important part of the season now. We want to win as many games as we can, taking it game by game, and every game is a final now, so we have to keep pushing and see what happens.”
Signing Semenyo has reinvigorated Manchester City’s attack
Since his £64 million January move from Bournemouth, Semenyo has become an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s side.
The 26-year-old has already scored eight times and provided three assists in 18 games, including an exquisite cross for Haaland’s second goal against Liverpool.
Semenyo’s arrival has helped reignite City’s faltering attack and put them firmly back in the title picture as the season reaches its climax.
