Manchester City have secured the ePremier League for a third consecutive season, breaking the previous record for the most wins in a row.

Just one week after Manchester City’s Carabao Cup final victory over Arsenal, the club have triumphed in yet another competition.

However, this achievement was not made on the pitch. Instead, it came at Media City in Salford, where Man City won the ePremier League.

Matias Bonanno represented the Sky Blues for a third year and he was joined by debutant Jafonso. The duo did exceptionally well and as a result of their success, Man City have now broken the tournament record for most victories in a row.

Man City’s route to the trophy

In the quarter-final round, Man City were up against Nottingham Forest. Jafonso put on an impressive display, winning his match 5-2. Bonanno was less convincing, but he still managed to record a 2-1 victory over his opponent.

The Semi-final was more straightforward, with Jafonso and Bonanno winning 6-1 and 5-0 respectively against Tottenham Hotspur.

Then in the final, Man City defeated Leeds United 8-6 on aggregate, a win which secured the ePremier League title.

Man City are aiming for similar success in the Premier League

Just like eSports, Man City have a rich history in the regular Premier League. However, the title slipped away from their grasp last season.

The Citizens still have a chance to make things right this year, but Arsenal are leading the way by nine points.

Pep Guardiola and his team need as many wins as possible between now and the end of the season and their clash with Arsenal next month is essentially a cup final.
