- James Milner played for Manchester City between 2010 and 2015
- He made more than 200 appearances for the club
- The midfielder’s time at the Etihad is one of his proudest achievements
James Milner has been asked which part of his career he is proudest of and he has given a special mention to Manchester City.
The Premier League has had many icons who remained in the division for many years and James Milner is still going.
Despite leaving Manchester City 11 years ago, Milner continues to enjoy his football at Brighton & Hove Albion.
However, his time at the Seagulls will not be able to compare with the two Premier League wins he experienced at the Etihad Stadium, as well as a League Cup and FA Cup.
James Milner is proud to have played for Manchester City
Winning silverware is exactly why Milner is so pleased to have made the move from Aston Villa to Man City in 2010.
Although the club were not expected to win major trophies when the midfielder first arrived, he was part of a team who drastically changed people’s expectations of them.
This is the reason Milner has said that being able to play for Man City has been one of his proudest moments as a player.
When asked about this by BBC Sport, he said: “I’d probably say the two things for me was being able to go to Man City, who hadn’t won anything for a long time and being part of that group that won the first trophies there and started this era of success and being part of that.
“And then being able to go to Liverpool in a time where they hadn’t won too much in recent history and being part of that success.”
Man City have restored their pride again
Every player who joins a club as big as Man City should be able to experience the feeling of winning titles, but last year the Citizens fell short.
This, of course, has not been the case this time around, with City defeating Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final.
Now, even more players will be able to feel what Milner felt all those years ago and this is only the beginning.
Pep Guardiola is building a squad for the future and even if he bids farewell next season, Man City should be ready to continue competing for many years to come.
