  • Manchester City ended their near two-year wait for a trophy
  • Pep Guardiola praised the ‘whole organisation’ of Manchester City
  • He also highlighted how much silverware he has won at the club

Pep Guardiola has waxed lyrical over Manchester City as an organisation, after his team’s victory against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final.

Manchester City have been surrounded by negativity in recent weeks, with heavy criticism directed at Pep Guardiola.

Anyone would think Manchester City were having a dreadful season, but this is because of expectations Guardiola himself has built up.

Since his arrival, City have continuously gone from one success to the next and so it came as a shock when they failed to win a major trophy last season.

However, the club have returned to winning silverware, allowing Guardiola to highlight their extraordinary achievements since his arrival almost a decade ago.

Pep Guardiola heaps praise on Manchester City

Guardiola has faced plenty of blame for Man City’s decline over the past couple of seasons, so he has every right to speak up after his team’s important victory.

The manager has praised the ‘organisation’ of the Citizens, while also sending a reminder about how many trophies he has won during his time at the Etihad Stadium.

He said: “Winning nineteen titles in ten years in the modern era in England, in Europe. Hats off to the whole organisation. It’s the amount of consistency.”

Guardiola will still believe in himself after his Carabao Cup triumph

Whether Guardiola will stay at Man City beyond this summer is a big talking point and no one really seems to have an answer, including the boss himself.

Winning a trophy now means the end of the season could be a good time to end his time at the club. On the other hand, Guardiola may have gained reassurance that he can still deliver successes at Man City.

His team defeated Arsenal against the odds and they actually made it look quite easy in the second half. Therefore, maybe Guardiola will feel he still has something to offer.
