Manchester City suffer Omar Marmoush blow ahead of Real Madrid showdown

Manchester City have received some unwanted news about their hero last weekend, just before an important Champions Legaue fixture against Real Madrid.

Each game it seems a different player steps up to the plate and seals a victory for Manchester City with their ability to find the net.

Nico O’Reilly bagged twice against Newcastle in the Premier League, while Antoine Semenyo scored the only goal of the game against Leeds United.

Most recently, Omar Marmoush scored two goals at St James’ Park in the FA Cup, leading to questions over whether he might have a part to play against Real Madrid.

Omar Marmoush is unavailable for Manchester City

These questions have now been answered as according to Sebastien Vidal, Marmoush has been ruled out of Man City’s next match.

No reason has been given for the striker’s absence, but presumably he has picked up an injury in training ahead of the game in the Spanish capital.

This is disappointing for Pep Guardiola, as well Marmoush may not have started, he may have contributed off the bench if City were in need of a goal.

Man City have Erling Haaland back in the team

Guardiola made the decision to rest his regular first choice centre forward at the weekend, but Erling Haaland is back to do battle in Madrid.

The Norwegian did not deliver the best display against Nottingham Forest last Wednesday, so he will be eager to make things right.

Losing Marmoush is certainly disappointing, but Haaland is the man Guardiola was always going to be starting up front.
