Manchester City come to agreement on Rodri ahead of summer transfer window

Rodri’s contract at Manchester City is running down quickly and the club have made a decision on whether to keep or transfer list the midfielder.

Last Wednesday saw Rodri back on the scoresheet for Manchester City and he has delivered plenty of strong displays this season.

Pep Guardiola told the press after the game that Rodri was getting better, due to the fact he has actually been able to play a good run of matches without picking up any injuries.

However, Rodri has been linked with a move to Barcelona, with the player’s Man City contract set to expire next year.

While this has led to questions about his future, all speculation could soon be put to rest after a new announcement from a transfer market expert.

Man City will not consider selling Rodri

According to Nicolo Schira, Man City consider Rodri to be non-transferable and the club will not consider any offers which could snatch him away from the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola considers the Spaniard to be a key player, so there will be no temptation to let Rodri move to La Liga, with Real Madrid having also shown interest.

This means it is likely Man City will head to the negotiating table in the coming months in order to discuss a deal with the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner.

Bernardo Silva will not join Rodri in signing a new contract

The news that Rodri is likely to remain at Man City is very positive indeed, particularly as the club could be about to lose a very important player.

It has been reported that Bernardo Silva will leave Man City as a free agent this summer, leaving a huge gap in midfield.

As a result, the 29-year-old will become even more important to Guardiola and with Silva gone, perhaps he might even be considered as the new man to wear the captain’s armband.

matchday.
