Erling Haaland shows support for Omar Marmoush after his deadly Manchester City double

Erling Haaland has given his reaction after Omar Marmoush scored a brace which helped Manchester City knock Newcastle out of the FA Cup.

Pep Guardiola had eyebrows raising when he decided to make 10 changes to his Man City team after a draw in midweek against Nottingham Forest.

This ultimately turned out to be a stroke of genius, as the visitors to St James’ Park delivered a strong performance and emerged with a 3-1 victory.

Omar Marmoush deserves a lot of credit for his vital contribution, as he scored two goals which won Man City the game.

Since then, Erling Haaland has reacted to the striker’s display and he has nothing but delight for him after a superb night for the club.

Some forwards might get jealous when their understudy steps up and steals the show, but this is not the case for Haaland.

The Norwegian has shown himself to be a class act and he has posted on Snapchat in support of Marmoush, following his successful night in front of goal.

Haaland’s Snapcaht story showed an image he cpatured of Marmoush being interviewed after the game on TNT Sports, with the caption “Maaaaamush”.

Haaland must look to take inspiration from Marmoush’s performance

There is no doubt that Haaland is still the number one goalscorer at Man City. One good night for Marmoush absolutely does nothing to change that.

However, the 25-year-old has looked a bit underwhelming in his last couple of starts and hopefully he will be motivated to get back to his best after Marmoush’s dislay.

If Haaland can get himself banging in the goals again, City are definitely in a good position to fight for trophies.
