Sergio Aguero slams ‘unnecessary noise’ about Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City future

Pep Guardiola’s future at Manchester City is up in the air, but Sergio Aguero is not interested in speculating about it.

Manchester City are close to reaching the climax of their season, but this has not prevented conversations about various aspects of the club.

One popular topic is the FFP charges facing Man City and another is whether Pep Guardiola will remain at Man City beyond his contract which expires next summer.

It has already been reported that Guardiola has been offered the chance to manage Al-Ahli in Qatar and there could be more options on the table for the manager.

Sergio Aguero is not worried about Pep Guardiola’s Man City future

Many of those associated with Man City would like to see Guardiola remain at the club for many years to come, but ultimately the decision is up to him.

Former City striker Sergio Aguero is certainly not a fan of the matter constantly being discussed, as there are more important things at stake.

He told Trivela: “Pep still has another year on his contract. It’s a debate that doesn’t help anyone and only creates unnecessary noise around an issue that shouldn’t even be on the agenda right now. When the time comes, this will be resolved. It’s not something to worry about.

“There will always be candidates for the position and City will know how to choose the best replacement at the right time.”

Man City must focus on the Premier League title

Aguero is right in his thinking, as it is essential Manchester City do not get distaracted from fulfilling their main goal.

Right now, the priority has to be winning the Premier League and they already have a five point gap between themselves and Arsenal which needs closing.

Guardiola will eventually depart no matter what, whether it is this summer, next summer or in three years’ time. This is an issue which City can deal with when required, but at the moment, all focus should be on what is happening on the pitch.
