Pep Guardiola could leave Manchester City to manage former club

Pep Guardiola has been offered the opportunity to manage one of his former clubs, as his Manchester City contract nears its final year.

This summer will mark a decade since Pep Guardiola became Manchester City manager and what a ride it has been.

The ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss was already a proven winner, but he has taken his career to another level at Man City, winning six Premier League titles.

However, all good stories come to an end eventually and Guardiola could be heading towards the final chapters of his time with the blue side of Manchester.

Pep Guardiola offered chance to manage in Qatar

Pep Guardiola has already attracted interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League and according to Team Talk, Qatar is now an option too.

Al-Ahli are one of the clubs reportedly interested in Guardiola and this could be an interesting switch for the former Spanish international, as he spent two years of his playing career there.

Guardiola remains a respected figure in Qatar, especially after his role as an ambassador ahead of the 2022 World Cup and the financial resources are in place to bring him to the country.

Qatari officials are keen to leverage both Guardiola’s footballing pedigree and his global profile, so there is a clear plan to make this dream a reality.

Guardiola has nothing more to prove in Europe

Players often remain in Europe during the peak of their careers before heading outside the continent to secure a healthy pay day. There is no reason why this would not appeal to a manager, especially one who has won just about everything there is to win in Europe.

Guardiola has done unbelievably well at every club he has managed and there may be a feeling that there is nothing left for him to accomplish.

Therefore, a move to Qatar could be seen as desirable as it is a new adventure which guarantees financial stability.
