- Manchester City face Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday
- City have beaten Liverpool twice already this season
- Victory would earn City a record eighth successive semi-final spot
Manchester City face off against familiar foes Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium in Saturday’s huge FA Cup quarter-final clash.
Neither side comes into the weekend in great form, with both having won just twice in their last five matches.
Man City lifted the Carabao Cup with an impressive victory against Arsenal last month, but crashed out of the Champions League after losing 5-1 on aggregate to Real Madrid.
Earlier this season, City recorded a league double over Liverpool for the first time since 1936/37. Despite this, Pep Guardiola remains wary of Liverpool’s ‘top-class’ threat.

Man City have the momentum ahead of Saturday
Man City’s form has been nothing special. In fact, the Sky Blues have been quite poor in recent weeks.
However, winning the Carabao Cup was a bit achievement, particularly as it required defeating Arsenal.
Liverpool on the other hand are struggling, despite all their spending last summer.
Therefore, City will be the favourites against Liverpool and should really be securing a victory.
