Pep Guardiola scouts Manchester City’s potential next Champions League opponents during Italy trip

Pep Guardiola was seen at Brescia on Sunday and he has attended another football match during his holiday in Italy, only this time he did so with Manchester City in mind.

Manchester City’s players have been enjoying a short break after defeating Newcastle last Saturday and Pep Guardiola has made good use of his time.

It was revealed earlier this week that Guardiola snubbed the North London derby for a visit to Brescia, where he spent some time during his playing days.

The Catalan boss has continued to attend matches in Italy and he was spotted at a Champions League tie on Tuesday night.

Pep Guardiola was at the San Siro for Inter vs Bodo/Glimt

Bodo/Glimt knocked Inter out of the Champions League last night and Guardiola was present at the San Siro to witness the action unfold.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, the Manchester City boss saw Manuel Akanji make a mistake during the game, a player who officially still belongs to his club.

However, Guardiola’s most likely reason for attending the match is because there is a 50 per cent chance City will face Bodo/Glimt in the last 16.

Guardiola already knows a thing or two about Bodo as they defeated Man City in the league phase, but he will be eager to gain any new insights ahead of the next round.

Bodo/Glimt are unbeaten since November

Bodo/Glimt’s domestic season ended last year, but this has not prevented them from delivering big results in the Champions League. In fact, they have looked even more dangerous since the 2025 season in Norway concluded.

Kjeti Knutsen has masterminded victories over Manchester City, Ateltico Madrid and Inter Milan, as well as getting a draw on the road against Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid are Man City’s most likely alternative opponents and believe it or not, Guardiola might actually prefer a draw against the La Liga team.
