“Over the moon” Nico O’Reilly reacts after scoring deadly Manchester City brace

Nico O’Reilly has spoken about what Manchester City must do to win the Premier League title after his delightful double against Newcastle.

What a journey Nico O’Reilly has been on since he played his first senior game of football for Manchester City.

The youngster originally played as a full-back, but has since taken up a more attacking role which is working splendidly.

O’Reilly was Man City’s star player during their 2-1 victory over Arsenal, scoring both goals to take his Premier League tally for the season.

Nico O’Reilly reveals his Manchester City dream

Manchester City may have won a lot of Premier Leagues in recent years, but O’Reilly has not long been on the scene.

The 20-year-old would love to lift the prestigious trophy and he has revealed what City must do in order to seal the ultimate triumph in May.

Speaking after the win over Newcastle, O’Reilly told TNT Sports: “I’m over the moon tonight. I mean, the win was the most important thing, close the gap and apply as much pressure as possible. And yeah, also very happy with two goals.

“It’s a dream of mine to win something like this [the Premier League]. I mean, it’s a lot of games to go, obviously, to take each game as it comes. Yeah, I’m just enjoying every moment and taking it all in.

“You know, we had a week break, so we were able to prepare for this game very well. But, yeah, we should keep going.”

Man City have another break before their next Premier League match

Manchester City’s week-long break was certainly helpful in preparation for the Newcastle game and they can now enjoy another week before making the trip to Leeds next Saturday.

Daniel Farke’s team almost claimed a victory over Aston Villa yesterday, so they will provide City with another tough test to overcome.

However, O’Reilly’s confidence is sky high and he will feel he has what it takes to keep pushing his team towards their ultimate goal.
