Erling Haaland keeps his Man City goal contribution run going with pleasing display against Newcastle

Erling Haaland has been brilliant once again for Manchester City this season and his latest performance was no different.

The striker was initially an injury doubt for the Saturday night clash, but he was deemed fit enough to be included in the starting lineup.

Pep Guardiola will have been delighted by what he saw from Haaland, as the Norweigen ultimately played an important role in securing his team’s victory.

Erling Haaland registered an assist for Manchester City

Haaland was already on a run of bagging a goal contribution in his previous four starts for Man City, including three goals and three assists.

This run has been extended to five matches, as the 25-year-old assisted Nico O’Reilly with a wonderful cross which saw the hosts take a 2-1 lead.

That was one of Haaland’s many contributions, as he covered ground all over the pitch and was central to a number of City’s attacking moves.

Haaland has topped the stat charts

No Manchester City player had more touches in the opposition box than Haaland against Newcastle and the forward also led the way for big chances created.

The centre forward completed the joint most number of dribbles and won 18 duels, which was more tha anyone else.

On the whole, it was another superb performance from a player who will continue to be vital to City’s Premier League title charge.
