Ex-Manchester City star Vincent Kompany has explained the lessons he has learned from Pep Guardiola which are helping him to become a better manager.
Vincent Kompany was very much a fan favourite during his 11-year spell at the Etihad Stadium and he will have fond memories of this period.
The defender won four Premier League titles as a Manchester City player, as well as four League Cups and two FA Cups.
This game Kompany quite the CV, allowing him to make the step up to management where he has continued to be a roaring success.
The Belgian earned plaudits during his time at Burnley before he was snapped up by Bayern Munich and he has since delivered the German giants a Bundesliga title.

Much of Kompany’s success is down to his own abilities and knowledge of the game, but he has also been able to witness exaclty what a successful manager looks like.
The 39-year-old played under Guardiola for three years and there was something about the Man City boss which made him one of the very best around.

Addressing the Bayern Kids Club, Kompany said: “It’s not really about tactics. It’s about this mentality to always want to win everything, to see every game as an important game.
“No difference between a game against your main rival and a game against a team from the second division. Having this mentality to always be there”

It seems the secret to Guardiola’s success has been revealed and it is that he understands what is required in order to be the best.
Beating the best teams is all well and good, but this must be backed up by consistent performances on a weekly basis, regardless of the opposition.
