Vincent Kompany names his favourite Premier League title triumph with Manchester City

Vincent Kompany won four Premier League titles with Manchester City and the one he has picked as his favourite will come as no surprise.

Serial winner is a title which comes to mind when considering someone like Vincent Kompany. The ex-Manchester City star won every trophy on offer during his time in England and he has continued to experience success as a manager.

Kompany would not have known just how well things would turn out at City, as he joined the club in 2008 after a season where they finished ninth in the Premier League.

However, the Belgian went on to win four league titles at his former club, as well as multiple other pieces of silverware.

Vincent Kompany picks his favourite Premier League title win

Kompany has picked his favourite triumph as a player at Manchester City and unsurprisingly it is the first time he tasted Premier League glory.

The Bayern Munich manager has reflected on the moments which led to the victory, as his team overcame QPR in stoppage time to complete a life-changing comeback.

Talking to the Bayern Kids Club, Kompany said: “The first title we won with Manchester City [was my favourite]. We won it at the very last second.

“We had actually lost it in the final matchday and then Kun Agüero scored at the last second and we won the title. I’d say that was my favourite.”

Man City built on Kompany’s first Premier League triumph

Winning the Premier League as a one-off would be a truly unforgettable memory. Just ask any Leicester City supporter what it meant to win English football’s most prestigious prize a decade ago.

However, it is even better to win it on multiple occasions and that is what City have continued to do, even with players like Kompany eventually departing the club.

In total, they have lifted the famous trophy a further seven times since 2011/12 and this season could end up being the latest chapter of this incredible success story.
