Manchester City may still have a shot at winning the Premier League title, but they are already unable to reach the heights of some previous seasons.
Manchester City supporters got used to seeing their team dominate English football each year, but this luxury appears to be a thing of the past.
It was Liverpool who got their hands on the Premier League trophy last season, with Arne Slot impressing in his opening season at the Reds.
Despite this, Man City are hard at work to regain their crown, with only four points separating them from Arsenal at the top of the table.
Manchester City cannot match their 2023/24 Premier League points tally
While City still have 12 matches remaining in the Premier League season, it is already a known fact that they will not be able to reach the points tally recorded two campaigns ago.

Pep Guardiola’s team won the league title after racking up 91 points, but their ceiling this year is 89 points, showing how much the club have been weakened.
However, Man City only managed to gather 71 points last season, so this season could end up being viewed as one where notable improvement has been made.
Man City will only care about winning the Premier League
For Manchester City, the number of points picked up across 38 matches is not really that important, so long as they register more than any other team.
Losing the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Julian Alvarez was always going to make life harder, but Guardiola still has a strong squad at his disposal who are motivated to improve.
If the Citizens do win the league, the 2025/26 campaign will go down as a good season, regardless of matches won, points taken or any other statistic.
