AS Monaco have today released a statement accusing top European clubs of illegally approaching young striker Kylian Mbappe, and Manchester City are thought to be one of the alleged clubs involved.

The France international has established himself as one of, if not the, most promising strikers in world football, and this has inevitably prompted interest from a host of clubs.

However, according to Sky Sports’ Bryan Swanson, City and PSG are two of the clubs that have been accused of breaching FIFA regulations in their pursuit of the youngster.

Although it looks as though Monaco are only considering a formal complaint at this stage, it certainly doesn’t bode well for City and their future hopes of landing the striker.
