According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester City players are convinced that Alexis Sanchez and Kyle Walker are both arriving at the club this summer in a massive £100 million double deal.
City boss Pep Guardiola has targeted Sanchez and Walker as part of his summer spending spree, with his current squad believing that both deals for the players from North London are completed in time for the new season.
Sanchez has one year remaining on his Arsenal contract, with the Gunners offering him a new deal worth in excess of £250,000-a-week to stay in North London. With Arsenal missing out on Champions League qualification, negotiating a new deal with the Chilean will be much more difficult.
Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are two other clubs that are interested in Sanchez’s services this summer, with the German champions making a strong move for his signature.
City believe, however, that Sanchez wants to stay in the Premier League and that they are in pole position to sign him. An offer of £50 million is being rumoured to tempt the Gunners into letting him leave the club. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that they do not want to sell to another English club and would rather let his contract run down than let him leave to a rival club.
Walker’s deal will be more straightforward compared to Sanchez. The English right-back would prefer a move further north, which rules out potential suitors Chelsea and Bayern Munich. Tottenham will demand a high price of £50 million as they prepare to sell a player who has fallen down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino.
Kieran Tripper has overtaken Walker at right-back after the 26-year-old’s form dipped near the end of the season. With Manchester City’s issues at full-back, Walker would be a fantastic signing and could adapt to Pep Guardiola’s style of play.
