Manchester City welcome Ligue 1 leaders AS Monaco to the Etihad Stadium tonight in the Champions League.
The game marks the return of the competition and Pep Guardiola will be hoping to take advantage of the tie ahead of the second leg in France.
The French side arrive in good form, they sit top of the league in France and have been resurgent this season. They find themselves three points clear of nearest rivals Paris Saint-Germain.
They’re unbeaten in all competitions since the middle of December and haven’t tasted defeat since their 3-1 loss against Lyon, so it won’t be an easy test for Guardiola’s men if they want to advance to the next round.
The French side have become known for developing their own talent of late, despite the riches available to them. They have a number of players that City will have to keep an eye on, as well as some familiar names that are being linked with big-money moves to the Premier League.
Based on current form, we take a neutral look at how a combined XI between the two sides would shape up.
