Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany may have suffered another injury setback after pulling out of the Belgium team to face Netherlands at the last minute.
Fans already had their doubts about Kompany joining up with his national team so soon after returning from another bout of injuries, and their concerns may have been justified after the centre-back confirmed that he felt a tweak during the warm-up so decided not to risk playing.

The extent of the injury is unknown but if he is sidelined for another significant period of time then there may be speculation arising about his future at the Etihad.
Kompany has only completed 90 minutes of football once this season – against Swansea in the EFL Cup – and manager Pep Guardiola had been nuturing his return to first-team football in recent weeks.

Roberto Martinez’s decision to call Kompany up to the national squad was met by positivity from Guardiola but the Spanish duo may have made matters worse for the 30-year-old, with supporters suggesting that another setback may be the end of his professional football career.
