Boring, boring City…
A collection of poor concentration, misfortune and individual mistakes forced Man City to peg back Celtic three times in their Champions League tie in Glasgow.
Brendan Rodgers was very positive in setting out his green and white outfit tonight and it reaped its rewards.
A very early Moussa Dembele goal gave the home side the lead for the first time after Gael Clichy lost the run of James Forrest who aided it onto a Celtic head before the Frenchman opened the scoring.Fernandinho equalised not long after only for a Kieran Tierney cross come shot was deflected in off Raheem Sterling’s tracking boot. The explosive first half finished at 2-2 when Sterling made up for his misfortune with a delightfully composed finish.

After catching their breath in the interval, Celtic carried on how they ended the first-half, putting immense pressure onto the City defence and once more, they earned their rewards when Dembele capitalised on an Aleksander Kolarov mistake to direct the ball into the bottom corner with an abstract over-head kick.
City’s resilience was demonstrated again when some intricate play between Sterling, David Silva and Sergio Aguero unlocked the Scottish defence allowing Nolito to fire home a rebound.
Guardiola’s team pretty much dominated from that point on but failed to take the lead on the night, Ilkay Gundogan’s saved effort in stoppage time the closest they came.
The win-streak halted but hopefully not for long.
