Youngsters City should have used better

We’re taking a break from Euro 2016 and popping up with a bit of Manchester City content.

It’s been well-documented that over years Manchester City have not integrated young players into the first-team in the right way. Far too many promising talents were let go and moved on elsewhere, much to the frustration of City fans and youth football advocates.

However, now with the £200m investment in the mindblowing City Football Academy, there is a clear emphasis on youth. The talent is there, as demonstrated in the various successes at a number of levels last season.

With the appointment of Pep Guardiola, someone who looks to promote from within, there will be a considerable amount of young players who will get their chance in the first-team. It’s exciting times.

But as aforementioned, it’s not always been so rosy and unfortunately a number of City youngsters were not used correctly. We take a look.
