Manchester City are reportedly eyeing up an £80m summer spending spree on two central defenders.
According to the Daily Express, City will move for Athletic Bilbao’s Aymeric Laporte and Everton’s John Stones when Pep Guardiola takes the reins at the end of the season.

City have had monumental problems in defence this season, with Vincent Kompany unable to shirk off his calf troubles. In his absence, Martin Demichelis, Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi have failed to impress.
That means that Pep Guardiola will look to create a long-term defensive partnership in the summer.
French international Aymeric Laporte, a reported Manchester United target, has a £40m release clause and could be set to leave the Athletic in the summer.

On the other hand, England international John Stones attracted a series of bids from Chelsea in the summer and it is thought that City could approach Everton in the summer.

Manchester City currently have two young promising defenders in Tosin Adarabioyo and Cameron Humphreys, but Laporte and Stones are among the hottest defensive prospects and City appear incredibly keen to bring them in, though they will likely have to fork out £80m.
