Pep Guardiola is set to offer Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta a coaching role at Manchester City in the Summer.
Should the 33 year-old Spanish midfielder bring his playing career to a halt after this season, it is reported that he will join Pep Guardiola in Manchester as a coach.
Arteta, who is a good friend of Pep and his long-serving fitness coach, Lorenzo Buenaventura, is considering his options come the end of the season, when his contract at Arsenal expires.
According to The Times, Arteta visited the pair recently at Bayern Munich’s training complex, Saber Strasse, to discuss his future.
It would mean Arteta ending his 17 year playing career, and rejoining Pep, whom he came through Barcelona’s La Masia academy with. Bacary Sagna, Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Adebayor, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy are ex-Gunners that have already made the switch from The Emirates to The Etihad, and Arteta would be the sixth, but the first to join as a coach.
