City legend Bell heaps praise on Silva

Manchester City legend Colin Bell has spoken of how creative midfielder David Silva is very simply ‘irreplaceable’ in Manuel Pellegrini’s side for the season.

The £25 million man has been an integral part of City’s uprising in the last five years, producing game-changing performances and being a key figure at the Etihad since his big-money move from Valencia in the summer of 2010.

Given Silva’s recent performances being impressive to say the least, as well as an excellent campaign last time round, City hero Bell has been the latest to heap the praise on the club’s Spanish midfielder, claiming that he’s ‘got the lot’.

David Silva would walk into any City team. He is in my personal greatest all-time XI and is just fantastic to watch. When he’s on the ball, he makes the whole team tick and we don’t look the same side without him. He has an incredible awareness and is the perfect player for the modern game. Silva glides around the pitch and is an integral part of our recent successes and he is a genuine pleasure to watch. His movement, vision and intelligence are as good as I’ve seen and I hope he continues to grace the City team for many more years to come.

Silva’s class has been clear to see yet again, as in just five Premier League appearances so far for Pellegrini’s men, the Spaniard has already made six assists and scored a goal for himself, helping City to lead the Premier League at this stage.
