Manchester City travel to Everton this Sunday looking to make it three wins out of three at the start of the new Premier League season.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men have looked sharp having already defeated West Brom and Chelsea by the same 3-0 score-line to lift them to the summit of the Premier League at this early stage.
Roberto Martinez’s Toffee side will be no pushovers however after their own impressive 3-0 win at Southampton last weekend. Goodison Park has been somewhat of a bogey stadium for City to visit in recent times; despite The Blues remaining undefeated there during the last two seasons, picking up a 3-2 win in the title-winning 2012/13 campaign thanks to an excellent brace from the departed Edin Dzeko, and a 1-1 draw last term in which Fernandinho’s opener was cancelled out by Steven Naismith’s late equaliser to deny City a vital three points.
City could welcome back new signing Fabian Delph after the midfielder picked up a hamstring injury in pre-season, as well as Brazilian Fernando who has missed the last few games through injury. New signing Nicolas Otamendi
is unlikely to feature with the recent good form of Vincent Kompany and Eliaquim Mangala, but he may earn a place on the bench. Gael Clichy is available again but is also unlikely to get in ahead of the impressive Alexsander Kolarov. Pablo Zabaleta is sidelined for a month with a knee injury.
Everton are without Leighton Baines, Steven Pienaar, Darron Gibson and Tony Hibbert, but Belgian playmaker Kevin Mirallas could play, as well as Muhamed Besic and Irishman Aiden McGeady.
