French newspaper L’Equipe reports that City are keen on bringing in French striker Alexandre Lacazette in a bid to solve their striker issues.
Both Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko are currently sidelined through injury, while Stevan Jovetic has also had his fair share of injury troubles in Manchester.
And though James Milner has proved to be a reliable deputy up top, it is clear that Manuel Pellegrini feels the need to strengthen in attack.
23-year old Lacazette is a player City are showing great interest in according to reports in France, with the club believed to have sent scouts to watch the Lyon front-man in their 3-2 French Cup success over Lens on Sunday Night.
Lacazette has burst onto the scene this season, boasting a phenomenal record of 19 goals in 21 starts. He is undoubtedly one of the leading young talents in European Football, and at 23, is already a full international for Les Bleus.
Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas is adamant that the youngster will remain with the club in the current transfer window, but City’s offer could well prove too much for the French side to turn down.
More to come…
Would you welcome the arrival of Lacazette? Or would you prefer a more experienced, Premier League proven striker?
