Seven Man City players could feature on international duty today

Seven City players could feature for their countries on Saturday, with the biggest concentration of interest coming when Croatia face England in the Nations League.

Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic could line up against City team-mates Marc Guehi and Elliot Anderson in Rijeka at 5pm, while Vitor Reis is with Brazil and Enzo Fernández and Gerónimo Rulli could feature for Argentina later in the day.

Nico O’Reilly had also been part of England’s squad but has returned to City through injury and will play no part against Croatia.

The 5pm game provides the main Manchester City interest. Guéhi and Anderson both featured as England beat Czechia 2-0 on Tuesday, while Gvardiol and Kovačić started Croatia’s 4-1 defeat against Spain.

It creates the possibility of four City players sharing the pitch but playing on opposite sides in Rijeka.

ITV1 will show Croatia against England in the UK, with the game also available through ITVX.

Earlier, Reis could be involved as Brazil face India at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. The City defender came on late in Brazil’s 4-2 win over Australia on Tuesday to earn his second senior international cap.

The India game kicks off at 3pm BST. It is being shown on Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV in India, but there is no confirmed UK broadcaster.

Argentina then round off the day’s City involvement against Burkina Faso at 9pm. Fernández and goalkeeper Rulli are both part of Lionel Scaloni’s squad, with the game available in the UK through Prime Video and Premier Sports.
