Eleven Man City players could feature on international duty today

City could have 11 players involved across six international fixtures today, with the action beginning this morning and continuing through to England’s Nations League meeting with Czechia tonight.

Vitor Reis is first up with Brazil, while Rayan Ait-Nouri, Ayyoub Bouaddi and Iliman Ndiaye could feature during the afternoon. Five City players are then potentially involved in the two 7.45pm kick-offs. There is academy interest too, with Kaden Braithwaite and Ryan McAidoo part of the England Under-19 squad.

Antoine Semenyo had initially been called up by Ghana but withdrew from the squad because of a swollen leg. He isn’t expected to play during this international window.

Reis on the bench against Australia

Reis provides the first potential Man City involvement of the day when Brazil face Australia in Brisbane. The defender completed the full 90 minutes in the first meeting between the countries on Friday, a 1-1 draw in Townsville.

Carlo Ancelotti has made seven changes for today’s second friendly and Reis drops to the bench, with Gabriel Magalhaes and Jair selected in central defence.

Three more City players could then be involved from 2pm. Ait-Nouri is with Algeria for their AFCON qualifier away to Burundi, Bouaddi’s Morocco face Lesotho and former Everton forward Ndiaye is part of the Senegal squad preparing to face Ethiopia. All three started their countries’ previous games during the break.

Braithwaite and McAidoo with England U19s

There could also be two City youngsters involved when England Under-19s face Norway at 3pm. Braithwaite and McAidoo both started Friday’s 1-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland at St George’s Park.

McAidoo played 61 minutes before being replaced by Tynan Thompson, while Braithwaite completed the game. Ben Futcher’s side have since travelled to Marbella, where they face Norway today before further friendlies against the United States and Belgium.

Five City players could feature tonight

The largest concentration of City interest comes in the two 7.45pm games. Gvardiol and Kovacic are with Croatia for their Nations League game away to Spain.

Both started Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Czechia in Prague. Gvardiol completed the full game, while Kovacic also started in midfield as Croatia opened their campaign with three points. England’s trip to Czechia could feature three more City players.

Anderson, Guehi and O’Reilly are all part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad after starting Saturday’s 3-2 defeat against Spain at Wembley. Guehi was replaced late in that game by Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, while Anderson and O’Reilly completed the 90 minutes.

Whether Tuchel keeps the same City trio in his starting side remains to be seen, but all three are available for tonight’s game in Prague.
