City have received a double nomination for the Premier League’s September awards after winning all three of their league games during the month.
Antoine Semenyo is among eight players shortlisted for the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award, while Enzo Maresca is one of three contenders for Manager of the Month.
City beat Coventry City and Manchester United 1-0 before a 5-3 victory over Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium, leaving them as the only Premier League side with a 100 per cent record after five games.
Semenyo rewarded after four September goal contributions
Semenyo played every minute of City’s three Premier League victories in September, scoring twice and providing two assists.
He created Erling Haaland’s winner against Coventry before helping City through more than an hour with 10 men at Old Trafford following Phil Foden’s first-half red card.
The Ghana international then scored twice and set up Rayan Cherki in the win over Sunderland.
Semenyo is shortlisted alongside Mohamed Belloumi, Jayden Bogle, Pascal Gross, Charalampos Kostoulas, Alexander Isak, Jeremy Jacquet and Kevin Schade. Victory would give him the award for the second time as a City player after he also won it in February.
Maresca, meanwhile, is up against Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler and Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola.
The City manager became only the sixth manager to win his first five Premier League matches in charge of a club. September also brought a Champions League victory away to Porto, and a 5-0 Carabao Cup win over Norwich City.
Voting for both awards closes at 12pm on Monday, 28 September, with the winners to be announced on Friday, 2 October.
