Updated September 2026 schedule and form update
This guide to Manchester City fixtures Premier League and cup dates was refreshed on 30 September 2026. The turnaround under Enzo Maresca has been real. City have won five straight matches in all competitions since their Community Shield defeat at the start of the season, spanning the league, the Champions League and the domestic cup. Confidence is high at the Etihad heading into a congested October.
The improvement is a marked shift from the flat opening weeks. It comes at a good time, too. Fixtures are arriving thick and fast. Readers who followed our earlier report will recognise the pattern: a shaky start followed by a strong recovery under Maresca.
Manchester City 2026/27 campaign overview
City’s turnaround has two defining results. First, they beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Manchester derby, despite Phil Foden’s first-half red card leaving them a man light for most of the game.
Erling Haaland settled it with a second-half strike, continuing his fine record against United. City then opened their Champions League campaign with a 2-0 win away to FC Porto, where Haaland scored both goals to confirm his central role in Maresca’s attack this season. One was gritty, the other ruthless. Together, they capture the range Maresca now has at his disposal.
Manchester City fixtures Premier League and cup details
Manchester City fixtures Premier League and domestic cup dates continue with a Carabao Cup third-round tie against Norwich City. The match is set for Thursday, 17 September 2026, kicking off at 7:30pm BST at the Etihad Stadium. City go in as defending champions. They beat Arsenal at Wembley to lift the trophy last season.
A win would extend the run to six. It would keep the defence of their trophy on track. Confirmed line-ups, referee details and match analysis for the tie all appear in our Norwich City Carabao Cup team news.
What happens next
City’s winning run gives Maresca real momentum. A congested October lies ahead. The Premier League table, the Champions League group standings and the Carabao Cup draw will all shape the run of fixtures in the weeks ahead. Rotation across three competitions looks likely as Maresca manages a squad chasing honours on several fronts. Full details of every confirmed date and result sit in the original fixtures schedule guide, updated as fixtures are added.
