City could unleash £190m Deadline Day double act against Coventry

City supporters could get their first look at two of the club’s biggest Deadline Day arrivals against Coventry on Saturday.

Enzo Fernández and Iliman Ndiaye are both in contention to make their debuts at the Etihad after completing moves worth a combined £190m.

Fernández arrived from Chelsea for £125m, equalling the British transfer record, while Ndiaye joined from Everton for a reported £65m.

Both were involved in first-team training on Thursday as Enzo Maresca prepared his side for the visit of Coventry.

Fernández and Ndiaye could both feature

The Standard reports that Fernández is expected to go straight into Maresca’s side, while Ndiaye is also in line to make his debut but may initially have to settle for a place on the bench.

Either way, there is every chance City supporters will see both for the first time on Saturday afternoon.

Fernández should require little introduction to the Premier League after three-and-a-half years at Chelsea, while Ndiaye arrives after two seasons with Everton.

The Senegal international also gives Maresca something different.

City describe the 26-year-old as an attacking threat capable of playing on the wing or through the middle, although competition for places in that area of the pitch is considerable.

Maresca hardly needed to rip things up. City have won their opening two Premier League games, scoring six goals in the process.

Now he has another £190m worth of talent to fit into a team that was already winning. Saturday should provide the first indication of where Fernández and Ndiaye fit into his plans.
