Omar Marmoush has reached a verbal agreement with Tottenham Hotspur as talks continue with City over a move for the Egypt international.
Tottenham have been discussing a deal for Marmoush alongside their move for City winger Savinho.
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg now reports that Marmoush and Spurs have reached a full verbal agreement.
Talks between Tottenham and City are also described as advanced, with Plettenberg expecting an agreement to be reached unless there is a late change in the negotiations.
There has been no official confirmation from either club.
Tottenham push for Marmoush deal
Marmoush joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for a reported £59m.
The 27-year-old has since competed for attacking minutes in a squad led by Erling Haaland and could now return to London with Tottenham.
The Guardian reports that Spurs are closing in on a deal worth around £75m for Marmoush, while negotiations between the clubs were also confirmed by Reuters and ESPN on Friday.
Tottenham are already close to completing a separate deal for Savinho, with the Brazilian expected to move for an initial £75m plus add-ons.
That could make it a sizeable piece of late-window business between the two clubs if an agreement for Marmoush follows.
For now, the important development is on the player’s side. Marmoush has reportedly agreed terms with Tottenham, while Spurs and City continue to negotiate the transfer.
