City have reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Palmeiras winger Allan as they step up attempts to bring the 22-year-old to the Etihad Stadium.
City’s interest in the Brazilian emerged this week, with Allan identified as a possible addition to Enzo Maresca’s attacking options.
There has now been significant progress.
Fabrizio Romano reports that City have agreed personal terms verbally with Allan, who wants to make the move to Manchester.
Official negotiations between City and Palmeiras were also opened overnight as the clubs attempt to reach an agreement.
ESPN had previously reported that talks were taking place over Allan, while reports in Brazil suggested Palmeiras were reluctant to lose an important first-team player at this stage of their season.
City open Allan talks with Palmeiras
Allan has become a key figure for Palmeiras and has featured regularly during the Brazilian club’s 2026 campaign.
The left-footed winger can operate from either flank and has also been used more centrally.
City’s move comes with Savinho closing in on a transfer to Tottenham. Spurs have reached a verbal agreement with City for the Brazilian, with the fee reported to be worth more than £75m.
Allan has consequently emerged as a potential replacement, although City must still agree a fee with Palmeiras before the transfer can move towards completion.
The player’s position appears considerably clearer.
According to Romano, Allan wants the move and has already reached an agreement with City over personal terms.
Attention now turns to negotiations between the two clubs.
