City have added Pedro Neto to their list of wide targets, with Chelsea ready to demand a substantial fee for the winger, according to the Daily Mail.
Neto worked under Enzo Maresca during his time at Stamford Bridge, making 77 appearances and contributing 27 goals and assists across that spell. That relationship is understood to be a genuine factor in City’s interest, rather than a purely scouting-led pursuit.
Chelsea paid £54m for Neto from Wolves two years ago, and are reportedly seeking around £75m to let him go — a valuation City are said to be reluctant to meet as things stand.
His return of 19 goals and 19 assists in 103 appearances for Chelsea has been solid without being the kind of output that makes £75m an easy call.
He’s not the only name on City’s radar. Maresca’s side are also tracking RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and PSG’s Ibrahim Mbaye as they reshape their wide options — and Neto himself was on City’s list back in 2024, before Chelsea beat them to his signature from Wolves.
Worth noting: this sits alongside City’s midfield business too, with Rodri’s proposed exit to Real Madrid still unresolved.
Reinforcing out wide and potentially losing their best defensive midfielder in the same window would leave Maresca doing a lot of squad-building at once, and it’s not yet clear how City are sequencing the two.
