Man City eyeing PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye, according to report

City are taking a close interest in PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye, according to City Xtra, citing Djaameel.

The 18-year-old has considered a departure from Paris since the winter, with the report suggesting English and German clubs — including Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig — have registered interest, and PSG’s hierarchy said to be open to letting him leave.

It’s a story that’s gathered pace over the past day, with Tottenham and Aston Villa also credited with interest alongside City. Mbaye, who plays predominantly on the right but can operate on either flank, made 31 appearances for PSG last season, scoring three goals and adding two assists, though his game time was squeezed following his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.

He has two years left on his contract, meaning PSG are under no pressure to sell, but are said to be holding out for a fee in the region of £40m.

For City, the interest fits a pattern — Savinho’s long-term future at the Etihad remains uncertain, and a winger of Mbaye’s profile, direct and comfortable cutting inside, would give Enzo Maresca another option out wide if that departure materialises.

Nothing suggests a move is close, and this remains one to watch rather than one nearing its endgame.

This piece draws on reporting from City Xtra, via Djaameel, and has not been independently confirmed by Manchester City or PSG.
