Juventus are exploring the possibility of signing former City defender John Stones following the expiry of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.
According to Sky Sports in Italy, the Serie A club have identified the England international as one of several centre-back options ahead of the new campaign, although discussions are understood to be at an early stage.
Stones became a free agent at the end of June after bringing the curtain down on a decade-long spell with City, where he established himself as one of the most decorated players in the club’s history.
Having joined from Everton in 2016, the 32-year-old made 293 appearances in all competitions, winning six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups, four League Cups and the FIFA Club World Cup. His ability to operate in both central defence and midfield made him a key figure under Pep Guardiola during City’s most successful era.
Despite injury problems limiting his appearances over the past two seasons, Stones remains highly regarded across Europe and is currently with the England squad at the 2026 World Cup.
Juventus are understood to value his experience and leadership, with the opportunity to sign a player of his calibre without paying a transfer fee an attractive proposition.
At this stage, however, no formal agreement has been reached and the Italian club are continuing to assess their defensive options before making a decision on whether to pursue a deal.
