Manchester City have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign Elliot Anderson, with the England midfielder set to complete the move after the World Cup.
City confirmed the agreement on Thursday, adding that Anderson has completed a medical in Kansas while away with England. The formalities of the deal will be finalised when he returns to the country.
Sky Sports reports that City had agreed a deal for the 23-year-old, while The Guardian placed the fee at £116m.
It is a major early statement in Enzo Maresca’s rebuild. City have moved quickly to land a midfielder who can carry the ball, compete physically and give the new manager another central option before pre-season plans settle.
