- World Cup action continues today
- Two Man City players will face off
- One team are the clear favourites
Two teams will play their first World Cup match tonight, and it will see a battle take place between two Citizens.
The World Cup kicked off last week, and there have already been plenty of talking points to have emerged.
Whether it has been about those sometimes unnecessary hydration breaks, kits being stolen, or even rumours of a fake Shakira performing at the opening ceremony, there is lots to discuss.
But tonight, hopefully all the focus will be on the football, as a pair of Man City players line up on opposite sides.
Jeremy Doku will compete against Omar Marmoush
Belgium will be playing their opening World Cup match tonight, meaning City fans will finally be able to watch Jeremy Doku again.
Egypt are the team they will face, which means Omar Marmoush could be in action as well as the winger.
The European side will be strong favourites to take all three points, but Egypt won when they last met in a 2022 friendly.
And this time around, Marmoush will be looking to inspire his team to do the same, only this time at a major tournament.
Form guide
Belgium will enter into this fixture after two very positive results in their respective World Cup warm-up matches.
Doku’s team won 2-0 against Croatia, and thrashed 10-man Tunisia by a five-goal margin only a few days later.
Egypt also recorded a victory, winning 1-0 against Russia. However, their most recent result was a 2-1 defeat to Brazil.
What time is kick off?
Belgium’s clash against Egypt kicks off at noon in the US, which is 8pm for those watching on from the UK.
It will be available to watch on BBC One, and can be viewed in Ultra HD on the iPlayer app.
