How to watch Man City’s England stars in action at the World Cup
  • The Three Lions kick off their World Cup campaign soon
  • Four Man City players are in Thomas Tuchel’s squad
  • Every match can be viewed from around the globe

It is not long until England get underway in the World Cup, and four Manchester City players could potentially be named in the starting lineup.

Phil Foden’s omission from the squad was one of the main talking points regarding Man City’s stars, with the midfielder struggling for form at times this season.

However, the Citizens still have plenty of representation in Thomas Tuchel’s ranks, with four players involved.

James Trafford is likely to act as Jordan Pickford’s understudy, while John Stones and Marc Guehi could partner up at the heart of England’s defence.

Additionally, Nico O’Reilly will be looking to start at left-back, in what will be his first ever senior World Cup.

When do England play their group stage matches?

The Three Lions kick off their World Cup campaign next Wednesday, and Croatia are the team to beat.

Six days later, they will face off against Ghana, in a fixture which will see Antoine Semenyo on the opposite side of his club compatriots.

Then at the weekend, England play their final match of the group stage against Panama, which should arguably be the most straightforward fixture.

Which Man City players are likely to start?

Guehi is almost certain to be playing in all the important matches, provided he manages not to pick up an injury.

Stones could well join him, as despite his lack of game time for City this season, he started both England’s World Cup warm-up fixtures.

O’Reilly will be competing with Djed Spence for the left-back position. Tottenham’s defender assisted Harry Kane against New Zealand, but the 21-year-old has had an exceptional year with the Citizens.

And then in terms of who is least likely to play, Trafford’s only potential appearance will be if Tuchel decides to rotate the squad for a match where the victory is not in doubt.
