Lamine Yamal reveals which two Man City players he loves to watch
  • Lamine Yamal names the players he enjoys watching the most
  • Two Manchester City stars have been included in his list
  • Both have been particularly impressive in recent months

Lamine Yamal has named Neymar as his favourite player to watch, but he also mentioned two members of the Manchester City squad.

Man City are one of the biggest teams in Europe, and have participated in two Champions League finals since 2021.

However, the Citizens have struggled in recent years. Last season they were knocked out in the play-off round, and a last 16 exit most recently was not much better.

Despite this, City’s global appeal is still sky high, and the brilliance of the club’s finest players is being recognised far and wide.

Lamine Yamal names the players he loves to watch

It is clear Man City are a top class side, because Ballon d’Or runner-up Lamine Yamal has named two of their stars as players he enjoys watching.

Jeremy Doku was the first name mentioned by the 18-year-old. The exciting winger took the Premier League by storm towards the end of the season, bagging four goals and an assist in his final six starts.

Additionally, Rayan Cherki received a mention, despite only joining the Sky Blues last summer. Although this might not be the biggest surprise, as the France international plays to entertain.

Jeremy Doku is a nailed-on starter next season

Doku has become untouchable at Man City, so even if a new winger is added to their squad, he has nothing to worry about.

The 24-year-old has always been a good player, but recently his abilities in front of goal have improved a lot.

If he can keep that up, his position in the first-team are as secure as they could possibly be. Yet this is not the case for Cherki.

Rayan Cherki still has a point to prove

Although Cherki has impressed so much already, he found himself outside the starting lineup at the end of the season.

It is fair to say that there is more competition in the 22 year old’s position, and Man City could look to sign Morgan Rogers this summer.

Therefore, Cherki has to show that he is the right player to be starting, which means being consistent on a weekly basis.

Everyone can see how much of a creative genius he is, including Yamal. But this needs to be on display at all times if he is to be considered as undroppable as Doku.

matchday.
