Pep Guardiola has reacted to a video of Manchester City supporters reflecting on his decade of dominance.

For some, Guardiola’s exit is still only just beginning to sink in. It has been known for some time that the manager was considering his future, but he only announced he was leaving shortly before Man City’s final match of the season.

The send-off given to Guardiola has been as good as it could possibly have been. From his on-pitch speech last Sunday, to the Co-op Live afterparty which saw all 20 trophies he won, lifted individually in front of the fans.

But now, the club are looking to begin a new chapter with Enzo Maresca, a man who was recommended for the job by Guardiola himself.

Pep Guardiola delivers one last message to Man City supporters

Man City’s official X account has posted a video of Guardiola watching messages from City fans outside the Etihad Stadium.

After it ended, the ex-Citizen touched on his connection with both the club and the city of Manchester as a whole.

He said: “I don’t know why – sometimes you connect, sometimes you don’t connect, and I feel like I connected since I arrived.”

When asked if he felt like a Mancunian now, Guardiola replied: “Absolutely! Of course I’m part of that. Always I will be.”

Guardiola will be back

Despite taking on a new role with the City Football Group, Guardiola wasted no time in packing his bags and heading off to Barcelona.

Based on how humid the UK has been over the past few days, who could possibly blame him? However, he will return to keep an eye on what comes next.

Guardiola now has his very own stand and eventually he will have a statue unveiled as well, marking his unforgettable legacy.

Without a doubt, the tactical genius will return to the Etihad, where he will take his place in the stands to watch his successor.

Enzo Maresca has a tough task in front of him

Coming into a club after a manager who has been there for 10 years is always going to be a difficult challenge.

This is especially true when that manager is Guardiola, a man who lifted 20 trophies during his time at the Sky Blues.

You only have to look as far as Man United to see how far wrong this could go, as demonstrated when Sir Alex Ferguson departed.

David Moyes came in, and the Red Devils drifted some way down the Premier League table. And to this day, they have never been the same since.

So Maresca needs to make sure that instead of ending up like that, he continues to build on what Guardiola has already started.
